Build It My Way Projects & VideosThe projects shown on this page are illustrated by a picture of the finished product or tool. The videos are a sample of what is on the DVD you will receive when you buy the furniture plans and video. The videos are optimized for the web site so they are not as crisp or clear as the DVD version. Disclaimer: Woodworking is inherently dangerous and in the videos you will often see me performing tasks which can lead to injury. I recommend that you take all necessary precautions and follow all safety procedures outlined by the manufacturer of your particular tools. In particular I do not use a blade guard on my table saw. I am comfortable with this but do not recommend that you remove the guard from your saw. |

Project #1-Mortising Jig for Plunge Routers- Jig For Use With My Furniture PlansAlmost everyone who owns a router these days, owns a plunge router, since many come with two separate bases. I purchased my first plunge router for its versatility and safety. But it wasn’t until I built my first mortising jig that I began to get the most out of my router. Cutting mortises quickly and accurately allows me to build better and stronger projects; pieces of furniture that will last a lifetime. I use this jig in almost all my projects and suggest that if you are interested in any of my projects you may want to puchase this also. The DVD video runs approximately 35 minutes and shows in detail how to build and use the jig. The paper plans give all the necessary dimensions. On the right, you will see a web video that shows you a sample of what is on the DVD. Choose the version that is right for your computer. To buy this DVD with the paper plans, please go to our order form. Purchase two projects and you receive a discount off the second one. Project #2-The Verandah Table - Furniture PlansDeck tables and outdoor furniture can be found everywhere, made out of glass and metal or teak or anything. Though they come in all shapes and sizes I have never seen any to match this one. I may be expressing a slight bias in this regard but nevertheless the table is very attractive. The DVD video runs approximately 45 minutes and shows in detail how to build this red cedar table. The paper furniture plans give all the necessary dimensions. On the right, you will see a web video that shows you a sample of what is on the DVD. Choose the version that is right for your computer. Project #3-A Dining Room Chair - Furniture PlansThere are probably as many kinds of chairs as there are builders, and this is one of mine. There are several things I like about this chair, the curves at the bottom of the rails, the tapered seat, but especially the back slats which reach almost to the floor. As I say in my video, the back of the chair is what you see most of the time and with this chair it is the back which grabs your attention right away. I use my mortising jig to cut all the mortises in this chair. What makes this a most interesting chair for the builder is the use of angled floating tenons. The DVD video runs approximately 1 hour and shows in detail how to build this dining room chair. The paper furniture plans give all the necessary dimensions. On the right, you will see a web video that shows you a sample of what is on the DVD. Choose the version that is right for your computer. Project #4-Building a Sofa Table- Furniture PlansContemporary, yet functional; whether you are sfuffing the drawers with treasures or displaying them under the glass, this is a table which will add grace to almost any room in your home. Eight pages of plans and more than one hour of video will take you from the first cut till the table is standing on its own legs. The short video to the right, gives a quick overview of some of the techniques involved in building this table. Also, since I use my mortising jig to cut all the mortises you may want to look at the video above in which I describe the uses of the jig.
